New Durham starts its own mystery book club at 7 pm on Wednesday, October 7th.  This laid back new club is open to the public, and should be a fun, stress-free place to share favorite mystery authors, plots, and whodunits.  The club's first book will be Raymond Chandler's classic hard-boiled detective novel The Lady in the Lake, originially published all the way back in 1943.  Copies of the book will be available for free checkout starting on September 10th, and throughout the month.  Come by and pick up a copy, and join us for discussion!

The library's Mad Science reading program starts Tuesday, July 7th!   We'll perform experiments, read some of our favorite mad science books, have area scientists come and visit, and even film our own mad scientist movie.  Open to 1st graders through 6th graders.   Each week's program is free standing, so whether you can only make one session, or you want to attend them all, either way we'd love to have you!
