The Friends of the Library is a non-profit organization that promotes interest in the library, as well as supporting and assisting the library with programs and services. Approximately 12 volunteers established the organization in the fall of 2002. As of the end of 2008, out active members are 32 strong and we distribute a bi-annuial newsletter. As you can see, we have grown quite a lot over the past six fledgling years. The second Saturday in July, we hold a book, bake and plant sale. Please know that the community generously donates all of the items for this sale. This is our most successful fundraiser and great way for people to begin their summer reading. With the proceeds from this sale, we have been able to purchase many wonderful things for the library. In the past few years, we have added a picnic table out front, a new sign for the library, as well as new DVD's for the adult section of the library, just to name a couple. In December, we hold our Holiday Open House party with refreshments, entertainment, and Santa. This year singer/songwriter Steve Blunt was on hand for the event, keeping everyone dancing and singing. The Friends of the Library are always looking for new members, either active or non-active. Our meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month, at 7:00 pm in the library, through the months of April through December. Download an application form to join the Friends!
